फक्त एकाच प्रकारची झाडे एकाच भागात लागवड करू नये. झाडं लागवडीत विविधता असली पाहिजे. तरच जैविविधता जपता येईल. एकाच प्रकारची म्हणजे फक्त फळझाडे लागवड करू नये. किंवा जळावू इंधनासाठी उपयोगी होतील अशीही लागवड करू नये. तर काही झाडं ही फळे देणार नाहीत पण सावली व माती धरून ठेवतील अशीही झाडे गरजेची आहे.
निर्सगात बघावं ते नवलचं
असं का होत… हे होणं कदाचित नेहमीचं रासायनिक खतांमुळं होतं असं म्हटलं तर ते १०० टक्के बरोबरपण आहे. मग कोणतही रासायनिक खतं न टाकता सुध्दा किंवा घरीच रोप तयार केललं असलं तरी त्याला एवढ्या लहान वयातच त्यांच बाळांतपण होत कसं.. अर्थात त्याला फुलं, फळं लवकर का येतात.. जेव्हां त्यांची पूर्णवेळ वाढ झालेली नसते….

कांदापातीसाठी आपल्याला कांदा लागवड करावयाचा असेन कांद्याला मोड नसेन तर अशा वेळेस त्यांचा वरचा भाग म्हणजे १० टक्के भाग चकती प्रमाणे कापून काढून टाकावा व कांदा पूर्ण मातीत रूजेल याची काळजी घ्यावी.
बरीच मंडळी वरचा भाग अथवा वरचा अर्धा कांदा कापून जमीनीत लावता खरं तर हे चूकीचे कारण कांद्यातून अर्थात कंदातूनच पातीला पोषण मिळत असते. त्यामुळे कांदा हा कधीही अखंड लावावा.

गोगलगायीचा करेक्ट कार्यक्रम
गोगलगाय ही विषारी कीड नाही. स्वरक्षणासाठी सोडत असलेला पांढरा स्त्राव हा सुध्दा विषारी नाही. तिला सहजतेने हाताळता येते. उचलून फेकता येते. काही मंडळीना हा किळसवाणा किडी वाटतो. कारण तो लिबलिबत, अतिशय मऊ, प्रसंगी थंड स्पर्श असेलला कीडा आहे. गोगलगायी ही चिकट शेबडासारखा स्त्राव सोडते. गांडूळ व गोगलगाय या कीडीना हाड नसते. जपान मधे गोगलगायीचा उपयोग ब्यूटी थेरेपी म्हणून करतात. तेथे चेहर्यावर फिरवतात. त्याने त्वचा तुकतुकीत व चमकदार होते. ही कीड निशाचर आहे. बागेतील ओलावा, थंडावा असलेल्या जागेवर, भेगामधे , कुंड्याच्या कडामधे, मातीखाली वास्तव्य करते.

जेवणातील पदार्थाची चव वाढवण्यासाठी कोंथबिर ही महत्वाची वनस्पती आहे. तिच्या कच्च्या सेवनाने बरेच काही आरोग्यदायी फायदेसुध्दा आहेत. बाजारात मिळणारी कोंथंबिर ही रासायनिक खते, फवारणी करून कमी कालावधीत वाढवलेली असते त्यामुळे ती बचकभर (मूठभर) टाकली तरी चव येत नाही, त्याचा सुंगध तर दूरची गोष्ट.. पण घरी विषमुक्त पध्दतीने उगवलेल्या कोंथबिरीच्या दोन काड्या आपल्या जेवणातील पदार्थांची चव बदलवू शकते. शिवाय ती आरोग्यदायी सुध्दा ठरते. तर घरच्या घरी कोथंबिर मिळवण्यासाठी आपल्याला धने पेरले पाहिजेत. त्याची निवड, बिजप्रक्रिया, त्याची पेरणी, त्याची काळजी कशी घ्यावी हे सांगणारा लेख..
धने निवडः बरेचदा आपण घरात फोडणीसाठी वापरले जातात ते धने पेरतो. काही वेळेस ते येतात काही वेळेस नाही. असा बर्याच जणांचा अनुभव आहे. प्रथमतः त्याची निवड महत्वाची आहे. स्वयंपाक घरात वापरात येणारे धने हे हिरवट रंगाचे असतात. ते बियाणं म्हणून पूर्नलागवडीस योग्य नसतात. कारण त्यांची बिज म्हणून पूर्णतः वाढ झालेली नसते. त्यामुळे ही धने पेरण्यायोग्य नसतात.
कोथबिरीसाठी धने हे मोठे ज्वारीच्या दाण्यासारखे टप्पोरे, खाकी रंगाचे असावेत. बियाणांच्या दुकानात ते मिळतात. बरेचदा खाकी रंगाचे धने वाण्याच्य दुकानात सुध्दा मिळातात. त्या धन्यांना गव्हाच्या चाळणीने चाळून घ्यावेत. म्हणजे बारिक आकाराचे धने हे घरात वापरावेत व मोठे आकाराचे पेरण्यासाठी योग्य असतात.
पहिल्यांदा निवडलेल्या धन्यांना भरडून घ्यावेत. ते व्दीदल असतात. अखंड पेरले तर त्यातून अंकूर येण्यास बराच काळ लागतो. त्यामुळे त्यास हलक्या हाताचा दाब देवून, वाटीने किंवा ताटडीने भरडून घ्यावेत. पायात चप्पल घालूनही भरडता येतात. तर बिजसंस्कार करण्यापूर्वी धने भरडून घेणे गरजेचे आहे.
बिजप्रक्रिया, कोणतही बियाणं पेरतांना त्यावर बिजसंस्कार होणे गरजेचे आहे. ती खालील प्रमाणे करता येते.
- भरडेलेले धने सकाळी साध्या किंवा कोमट पाण्यात दिवसभर भिजवावे व मातीत पेरावे.
- भरडेलेल्या धन्यांना चुना (हरबरादाण्याएवढा चुना) व कपभर पाण्यात तास दोन तास भिजवावा व त्यास मातीत पेरावे.
- भरडेलेले धने वाटीत पाणी घेवून दिवसभर उन्हात ठेवावे व नंतर मातीत पेरावे.
- गोमुत्र पाण्यात तीन चार तास भिजवावे हे नंतर मातीत पेरावे.
- जिवामृत असल्यास भरडलेल्या धन्यांना जिवामृत चोळून वाळू द्यावे व नंतर मातीत पेरावे.
- पेरण्याची प्रक्रिया ही सायंकाळी करावी. म्हणजे ते रात्रभर मातीत स्थिर होतात.
धने मातीत पेरण्याची पध्दत…
- वरील प्रकारात भिजवलेले धने मातीत पेरावयाचे असल्यास त्यास सरी पध्दतीने दोन दोन दाने एका ओळीत सोडत एक इंच मातीचा थर द्यावा.
- किंवा चार चार दाने चिमटीत पकडून ते मातीत एक इंच खोल जातील व त्यात ठराविक अंतर ठेवत पेरावे.
- भरडेलेले कोरडे धने मातीत पेरावयाचे असल्यास त्यास इच्छित कुंडीत चमचे दोने चमचे पेरावेत त्यावर पाणी शिंपडून दूध काला करतो त्याप्रमाणे हलक्या बोटांनी त्यात मातीत कुस्करावेत. म्हणजे माती, पाण्यांचा धन्यांशी संयोग होवून ते लवकर उगवून येतात.
- कोरडे भरडलेले धने चिमटीत पकडून ते मातीत एक इंच खोल जातील व त्यात ठराविक अंतर ठेवत पेरता येतात.
घ्यावयाची काळजी…
- धने पेरल्यानंतर त्यास हाताने पाणी शिंपडून द्यावे. व सात-आठ दिवस त्यास ओलावा मिळेल याची काळजी घ्यावी. शक्य झाल्यास त्यास कडक उन्हात ठेवणे टाळावे. उनसावली चालेल. कारण धन्याचे अंकुर हे नाजूक असतात. त्यास कडक उनं लागले तर ते सुकून जातात.
- आपण आपल्या परिसरात पहिल्यांदा धने पेरत असाल तर त्यास चिमण्यापासून वाचावे. कारण कोवळे अंकूर हे त्यांचे औषध असते. आपल्या डोळ्यांना दिसणार नाही असे छोटे अंकूरित बिज ते चोचीने टिपत फस्त करतात.
बरेचदा संकरीत धने हे बोटावएवढे झाले की मान टाकतात किंवा ते अधिक वाढत नाही. अशा वेळेस त्यांना योग्य वेळेला खूडून, उपटून, मुळासहित स्वच्छ धूवून ते वापरावी. गावठी धने असल्यस त्याचे देठ जाड असते. त्यामुळे त्यास वर वर कापत वापरावी. पुन्हा देठांना पाने येतात. घरच्या बागेत आपल्याला वर्षभर धने पेरता येतात. फक्त एकदा पिक घेवून झाले की माती कडकडीत उन्हात वाळवावी. त्यात कंपोस्ट, गांडूळ खत मिसळावे म्हणजे नवे धने पेरता येतात. वरील सर्व प्रयत्न करूनही धने उगवले नाहीतर वाण्याचं दुकान बदलावं थोडक्यात बिज नवे घ्यावे.
टीपः बाजारात मल्टीकट ( पुर्नतोडणी करता येणारी कोंथबींर) वाणाचे छोट्या आकाराचे धने मिळतात. त्यांना भिजवू अथवा भरडू नये ते पेरण्यासाठी अखंड वापरावेत. चिमटीत धरता येईल एवढे चार चार दाणे घेवून ते पेरभर मातीत (सांयकाळच्या वेळेस) चार चार बोटाच्या अंतरावर पेरावेत.
